Katrina Kaif on a break to recuperate post surgery
Mumbai: Post a minor surgical procedure Katrina Kaif underwent at Breach Candy --attributed to her low hemoglobin levels -- the pretty actor is on a break now to recuperate.
Though Katrina herself was unavailable for comment because she's been advised complete bedrest for a while, her spokesperson issued a statement: "Katrina has just been discharged from Breach Candy hospital and she's completely fine. Because of the low hemoglobin levels in her system, she had to undergo a small surgical procedure. It's done with now and she's resting at home after which she will take off for her annual Christmas break."
There are some reports that Salman Khan was present at Breach Candy when Kat was getting operated. None of her other friends or co-stars made their presence felt.
Rumour mills are agog with speculation about the nature of the 'surgical procedure'.

International Fashion Week kicks off in Chennai
Chennai: Models sashayed down the ramp at the Chennai International Fashion Week (CIFW) that kicked off here on Wednesday. Thirty acclaimed designers from 10 countries have gathered to flaunt their creations. Actor Koena Mitra was the showstopper on the first day for designer Priya Kataria Puri.
"I think dressing up is a lot more fun, it's a feel good factor. When we stand in front of the mirror if you look and if you like what you see in the mirror your day is happy, so I think fashion is important for all of us," said Mitra.
The CIFW will have 60 models from 10 countries displaying 1,500 outfits at the 30 shows during the week.

'Veer' songs reflect 18th century colonial culture: Sajid
Music director Sajid says he and his brother Wajid have tried to reflect 18th century colonial culture through their music in Salman Khan starrer period drama 'Veer'.
'The film focuses on British culture in India and how they used to mix with each other then. So while making the music, we combined the music of two cultures to give the actual feel of that time,' Sajid told IANS at the music launch of 'Veer' here Monday.
Before starting work, Sajid-Wajid did research on the instruments extensively used during that time.
Asked if they utilised original musical instruments used during that period, he said: 'I made use of keyboards. When things are available, better make use of that because finally it's the sound that matters.'
'Veer' is about bravery, treachery and love. The story revolves around Pindaris who preferred death to dishonour and fought to their last breath to save their land. In the film, Salman plays a Pindari soldier.
The film has five songs and Gulzar has penned them.

Katrina Kaif Voted Sexiest Asian Woman
She may be quite dismissive about her sex appeal but the world, particularly her fans, feel otherwise. Yes, Bollywood stunner Katrina Kaif has been voted the sexiest Asian Female for this year as well.
The Kaif gal, presently riding high on the successes of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan, topped the annual list of the world's 50 sexiest Asian women unveiled on Friday by Eastern Eye, a newspaper for Asians in Britain.
Katrina beat tough competition from other Bollywood hotties like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu. Freida Pinto came third on the list, while Aishwarya Rai took the eighth spot.

Anarkali actress Bina Rai dies
Legendary actress Bina Rai, who charmed Indian audiences with her performances in Anarkali and Taj Mahal, and won a Filmfare award for Ghunghat, died of a heart attack in her Mumbai home on Sunday. She was 78.
Bina was married to actor Prem Nath, who was well-known filmmaker Raj Kapoor's brother-in-law. She is survived by two sons - Prem Kishan and Kailash Nath.
"Her funeral will take place in Banganga [in South Mumbai] on Monday at around 4 p.m. We are waiting for my brother Prem Kishen. He is on his way back from abroad," Kailash, also known as Monty, said.
Bina, who went on a hunger strike to convince her parents to allow her to act in movies, entered Bollywood with director Kishore Sahu's film Kali Ghata in 1951. Later she featured in movies like Vallah Kya Baat Hai (1962), Bandi (1957), Changez Khan (1957), Durgesh Nandini (1956), Marine Drive (1955) and Aurat (1953).
But she is still remembered for her roles in Anarkali (1953) and Taj Mahal (1963). Her last film was L V Prasad's Daadi Maa that was released in 1966.
Her son Prem Krishen, who had tried his luck in Hindi films with Dulhan Wohi Jo Piya Man Bhaye, is a successful TV producer and has made hit serials like Gul Gulshan Gulfam and Junoon.
Bina's granddaughter Akanksha, too, entered films with Yeh Mohabbat Hai, but the film didn’t work at the box office and she decided to bow out.
Her grandson Sidharth, however, is a successful TV director. He wielded the megaphone for the hit TV serial Sanjivani.
